Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What payment methods can I use?

A. Payment is made at the time of the order, this can be via, Mastercard, Visa, Debit or Credit cards, or via PayPal. We also offer Pay in 3 via PayPal (instalment payments).

Q. Do you deliver outside of the UK?

A. Yes, we offer deliveries to Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, most of Europe, USA & Canada, but the recipient may need to pay any local duties directly.  To see what shipping will cost the checkout basket should pick up where you are and offer appropriate shipping costs. If not you can select the destination in the basket, just below the Total Price (grey Band)

Q. What are the lead times for your lights?

A. Our lights are made to order and this takes time, lead times are shown on the respective light page and in the checkout. We place orders with respective factories every week, normally for a number lights at a time, these go into production in strict rotation, hence we give a fair estimate of the delivery time, this can however vary a few days, depending how busy the factory in question may be. We aim to get all orders out as quickly as possible.

Q. I placed an order but haven't had an email confirmation?

A. Our website automatically acknowledges your order with an email, this happens instantly, (allow a few minutes) so if you have not received the email, please check your spam / junk folder. If you do not get this, you probably will not get our emails confirming when your lights will be ready and delivery tracking emails.

Q. I placed an order, but now I have changed my mind?

A. OK, we all have second thoughts, if you cancel within 72 hours, we will simply cancel the order and refund you fully. After that it depends on which factory your light are with, if production has already started, we will see if it can be stopped. If you've left it too long then the order may have to stand. Sooner you tell us the sooner we can act.

Q. Are your lights dimmable?

A. All our lights can be dimmed, if your using LED light bulbs you need a dimmable bulb and suitable dimmer switch, we also supply these options.

Q. Are your Brass lights lacquered?

A. Most of Mullan's lights are made from brass (unless otherwise stated) and will therefore be lacquered to prevent tarnishing and save you polishing, with the exception of Natural Brass that isn't lacquered so it can age. You can specify lights to be unlacquered if you prefer.

Q. I would like a different colour or finish to my light.

A. Many of our lights have multiple finishes or colours shown as options, if you want something different this may be possible at extra cost, let us know we may well be able to help.

Q. I have received my order but there is a problem.

A. Very occassionally there could be an issue (glass broken, etc). Please contact us first, before returning anything and we will work to resolve the issue as fast as possible. We reserve the right to replace or repair any faulty product.

Q. I have received my order and now don't want it, can I return my light?

A. All our lights are either made to order from scratch (Mullan Lighting), or in the case of Burford Lights, assembled and painted to your order.

  • Mullan lights can be returned, but will incur a 30% restocking charge. Unless it's a special order, in which case they cannot.
